Something Blue

Earlier this year I altered a novel by Emily Giffin titled Something Blue, to create a keepsake box containing items that you would traditionally receive as your "something blue" object upon marriage. All pages of the original book were used in the construction, by laminating them together, then cutting out all of the centers to house the items, leaving some text around the borders. The hand drawn items are left floating in the centers on top of sheer white lace.
The piece is now part of the permanent collection and available for rental at the Toronto Reference Library in their Special Collections In The Arts section. Take a trip over and spend some time with it.
